Registration for the course on Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Urban mobility

This course was developed and will be offered by a group of lecturers of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the Czech Technical University in Prague (FTS CTU) within the RESICITIES project. 10 online lectures from October 25 to November 14, 2023, each lecture of 1.5h. Optional but recommended Mobility Week (seminars, student activities in group assignments, technical visits) in the premises of FTS CTU in Prague, Czech Republic (November 20-24, 2023) Learn about the intricate relationship between transportation, land use, and urban planning. This course offers a holistic understanding of the environmental implications of transportation, emphasizing sustainable and smart mobility solutions. Gain hands-on experience with traffic surveys, data collection methodologies, and micro-simulations. These courses are offered FREE of charge. The pre-requisites and target audience of each course (undergraduate or graduate students or both) are described specifically for each course. These courses are offered on an ongoing basis entirely online through the innovative Pocket Learning app Ryze (https://ryze.org.uk/). Registered students can download the app FREE of charge and will receive the access cide to claim all modules of this course in their Ryze library of courses. You can use the same online application form provided above to apply for this course. Contact the coordinator Ticiano Costa Jordao (ticiano@fd.cvut.cz) for more information about the course if needed. After the completion of these courses students are awarded with certificates (digital ones) with a corresponding amount of study hours that entitle them to apply for 2 ECTS or 3 ECTS at their home institution. The recognition of ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), however, will depend on the decision of the pedagogical coordinators of each student's higher educational institutions.

Registration for the course on Entrepreneurship for Resilient, Smart and Sustainable Cities

Developed and hosted by Porto Business School (PBS). This course is targeted to higher education students interested in entrepreneurship and/or on urban development affairs, whether in isolation or with the goal to understand and act upon both in an integrated and more effective way. In this course, participants will gain a new understanding and hands-on methodologies to deal with the following questions: (How) can startups solve urban problems? How can entrepreneurs develop business ventures with scalability potential that are attuned to urban challenges? How can cities foster entrepreneurial ecosystems that are instrumental to their missions while steering entrepreneurship and business growth? Registration for the course on Risk, Safety, Economics and Planning for Smart Cities

Developed and hosted by: University of Stavanger and the Czech Technical University in Prague. The target group for this course are students with multidisciplinary backgrounds in planning, civil engineering, risk management, and/or architecture. The modules in this course are oriented to students who want to gain multidisciplinary perspectives into cyber-physical, case-specific manifestations of Smart Cities, with particular emphasis in risk, safety, economics, and planning. After completing the course, students will have knowledge of how to proactively forecast and design Smart Cities with consideration for the safety, security and well-being of their citizens. Such knowledge is required from municipalities, county municipalities, directorates and ministries, consultancies and small and large contractors. Registration for the course on Introduction to Smart Cities

Developed and hosted by: Czech Technical University in Prague. The course objective is to introduce the interdisciplinary concept of Smart Cities. The course is divided into 7 modules, each module covering a specific Smart Cities topic. Each module consists of lectures and discussion. Students will acquire a good understanding of the conventional definitions and technological trends in the context of Smart Cities through an interdisciplinary approach as well as the integration of smart technologies in the urban environment. Students will also learn how smart technologies are being implemented and integrated in the support of sustainability and resilience of cities.
